The problem
Moving large quantities of heavy materials is something for which Goedkoop bouwmaterialen relies on material handling equipment.
Initially, they leased gasoline-powered machines for this purpose, followed later by electric vehicles with large external battery chargers. Lease costs were mounting up, as were the waiting times for maintenance. Moreover, the machines took up a significant amount of space, causing traffic congestion in the warehouse.
Consequently, Goedkoop bouwmaterialen decided to purchase their own equipment. Team Leader André de Almeida de Oliveira began his search and quickly arrived at electric tugs: easy to charge, compact, and strong. They also boast more than enough battery capacity for a full workday and are ergonomic to use. And that is how V-move came into the picture.
The solution
The decision to choose V-move was made quickly, André explains.
Thanks to the fast, pleasant communication and active dedication from V-move, clear plans were on the table in no time. Several electric tugs were tested, and ultimately, Goedkoop bouwmaterialen selected the V-move 1200.
And it doesn’t stop there. If there are questions or maintenance is needed, V-move is on-site in no time. This solution-oriented approach and customer-focused attitude make André’s job a lot easier. By now, five V-moves are in operation – and there are plans to replace the entire fleet with V-move electric tugs over the coming years.
